PTSO

PTSO is a parent teacher student organization formed to assist and raise money for Newell Barney Junior High School. We meet monthly and post the meeting notice online at our Facebook account as well as send out an email through the school.

We invite you to join us to learn more. Like us on Facebook and request to join.

Ways to Get Involved

  1. Facebook - Request to join our closed group Newell Barney Junior High School PTSO on Facebook.
  2. Monthly Spirit Nights - Buy food from our partner restaurant on our designated day and we get 20% to 33% of the sales! For example, Bahama Bucks, Chipotle, MOD Pizza.
  3. Monthly PTSO Meetings - On the last Tuesday of each month (except during breaks) in the Newell Barney front office at 10:00 a.m. Hear what’s going on, give us your opinion on our past activities, help plan future endeavors, volunteer to help with activities.
  4. Quarterly Fundraiser - Buy products or make donations and we receive a percentage of the sales. For example, Harkins Popcorn Perks and Refill Cup sales, Goodwill/Savers donation drive.
  5. About-Once-a-Semester Social Event Fundraiser - Encourage your student to buy tickets for and attend our organized off-campus activities. We often coordinate a bus to take us from Newell Barney to the location. For example, Ice Night at AZ Ice Gilbert and Suns Night at Talking Stick Resort Arena.
  6. Link Your Fry’s VIP Card to Newell Barney Junior High School - Visit the Fry's Community Rewards Program webpage to enroll and choose Newell Barney Junior High School PTSO. Fry’s will donate a percentage of your purchases to our PTSO.
  7. Participate in SignUpGenius Donating to Our Teachers - We will occasionally send out a SignUpGenius request for donations to make it easy for parents to see what we need for a particular event. For example, we have parents donate pies in November so that each teacher receives a store-bought or homemade pie. We will celebrate with and feed the teachers several times throughout the year (after the first full week of school, during parent-teacher conferences, after fall break, before winter break, etc.) and may need a donation of drinks, napkins, food items, etc. We will gift our teachers classroom needs (paper towels, Kleenex, Clorox Wipes, etc.) and fun presents (Flair pens, restaurant gift cards, shopping gift cards, etc.) in December. These will be straightforward and easy sign-ups that you can drop off at the front office at your convenience prior to the event.
  8. Donate - Avoid all the mumbo jumbo and donate money directly to us! We can accept cash and checks. We are a 501c3, so donations are tax deductible. Make checks payable to Newell Barney Junior High School PTSO.
