Character Counts
Character Counts is a national program that promotes the Six Pillars of Character as the basis for understanding, evaluating, and modeling ethical behavior. At Newell Barney we endeavor to model and teach these character traits to our students. The six pillars of character are trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.
Student Council
Newell Barney's student council serves to engage students in learning about democracy and leadership. Elected officers and class representatives meet often to share students’ ideas, interests, and concerns. They raise funds for school-wide activities, and play an important role at our school. They do all this and more, including leading by example and fostering a “team spirit” across the campus.
